Va\u017eno je znati kako je pojava svih ovdje navedenih emocija i stanja, sasvim normalna te kako je odmah po saznavanju dijagnoze karcinoma, mogu\u0107e da svaka osoba reagira na sebi svojstven na\u010din i to moramo dopustiti. Iskazivanje emocija nije opasno i emocije same po sebi nisu opasne. Ne morate se truditi biti \u201epozitivni\u201c ili dobro raspolo\u017eeni zbog svojih bli\u017enjih i zbog okoline, ako Vam nije do toga. Normalno je da Vam nije do toga. Neugodne emocije pro\u0111u puno prije ako ih pustite da neko vrijeme postoje nego ako ih poku\u0161avate potisnuti i\u00a0 raditi na tome da budete vedri i optimisti\u010dni. Optimizam ne isklju\u010duje to da povremeno poka\u017eete i koliko Vam je te\u0161ko i\u00a0 da se nakon toga ponovo nastavite hrabro boriti. Stoga se strah naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e javlja ve\u0107 i prije same potvrde o postojanju neke bolesti, u periodu dok jo\u0161 traju pretrage, i dok ni\u0161ta nije potvr\u0111eno niti isklju\u010deno. Kao emocija, strah je namijenjen tome da nas brzo opremi snagom i energijom da bismo se s tom opasno\u0161\u0107u koju o\u010dekujemo, mogli efikasno suo\u010diti i anga\u017eirati se oko lije\u010denja. No, ta priprema i energizacija tijela uklju\u010duje i brojne tjelesne senzacije i promjene koje mo\u017eete osje\u0107ati kao nelagodu \u2013 mi\u0161i\u0107na napetost, &#8220;gr\u010d&#8221; u \u017eelucu, &#8220;lupanje&#8221; srca, ote\u017eano disanje, probavne smetnje, bolovi, nemir, nesanica&#8230; Sve to, mo\u017ee dodatno\u00a0 poja\u010dati osje\u0107aj da ste fizi\u010dki lo\u0161e. To mo\u017ee biti zbog toga \u0161to ste izgubili dobro zdravlje ili sposobnost da radite neke stvari u kojima ste ranije u\u017eivali. Gubitak zdravlja jedan je od najve\u0107ih gubitaka i zbog toga \u017ealujemo sli\u010dnim fazama kao kad izgubimo nekog bliskog.\u00a0 Tuga je sastavni dio faza kroz koje prolazimo . Ona se \u010desto mo\u017ee javiti i prije tuge, ali i s njom.<\/p><p>Gubitak zdravlja naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e do\u017eivljavamo kao nepravdu; javi se niotkud, neo\u010dekivano, \u010desto naru\u0161i\u00a0 ve\u0107inu planova i normalnog \u017eivota koji osoba vodi, a katkada nam i demonstrira kako smo ranjivi unato\u010d tome koliko dobrog ili lo\u0161eg u\u010dinimo u \u017eivotu. Depresija mo\u017ee biti ili osje\u0107aj intenzivne tuge koja traje dugo, ili osje\u0107aj apatije, nedostatka volje i \u017eelje za borbom protiv bolesti. Mo\u017ee uklju\u010divati i neke promjene na tjelesnom planu poput nemogu\u0107nosti spavanja, promjena u apetitu, bolovima i sl. Mogu\u0107a je i pojava osje\u0107aja krivnje, proma\u0161enosti ili misli o smrti, pa \u010dak i suicidalnih misli.
